Getting home after midnight in London

The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights only. Every other night, the bus is what gets you home.

Five tube lines

Central, Victoria, Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly — and not the whole line, only specific sections.

Heathrow is covered

The Piccadilly line runs Cockfosters to Heathrow Terminal 5 through the night, every 10 minutes.

Buses: all seven nights

Routes with an N prefix plus the 24-hour routes run roughly 23:00 to 06:00. Nearly all pass through the centre, so the night journey home is usually “into town, then change”.

£1.75, an hour to change

The Hopper fare: for one hour after you pay, further bus and tram journeys are free. The daily cap is £5.25.

Dearer from 1 November

Bus and tram go to £1.85 a journey and the daily cap to £5.55. The Hopper rule stays as it is.
