How we use artificial intelligence

We use artificial-intelligence systems as newsroom tools — in the same way as a search engine or a text editor. A person always decides what is published.

Where we use them

• Monitoring official sources and identifying subjects.
• Drafting and summarising from official documents.
• Translating between Russian and English.
• Checking classified ads against the law and the board rules.

Where we do not

• We do not publish material about named people or companies, court proceedings, health or readers' money without an editor preparing and checking it by hand.
• We do not create images or recordings that depict real people saying or doing things they did not.
• We do not present machine-written text as eyewitness testimony.

What we label

Audio and video created or materially altered by synthetic means is labelled as such. A synthetic voice in an audio bulletin is disclosed within the bulletin itself. Our labelling follows the transparency requirements of Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence.

Who is answerable

ONLYWAY NEWS LTD is answerable for everything it publishes, whatever tools were used in preparing it. Pointing at a tool is not an excuse for an error.

Data

We do not feed readers' or advertisers' personal data into artificial-intelligence systems beyond what is needed to check the text of an advertisement itself.
