Editorial policy
updated: 5 September 2026
This document sets out how the newsroom works: what we publish, how we check facts, how we correct mistakes and how we separate advertising from news.
What we publish
Material that helps a reader decide: changes to law and rates, deadlines, fees, case law, market conditions and practical explainers. Priority goes to subjects where a mistake costs money.
Fact checking
- Any statement about law, tax or fees is supported by a link to an official source.
- Commencement dates are stated explicitly. If a rule is not yet in force, we say so.
- Market figures and exchange rates are indicative, sourced and time-stamped. They are not an invitation to deal.
- We do not publish anonymous allegations about identifiable people or companies without documentary support.
Pre-publication levels
| Level | What it covers | Process |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Rates, weather, timetables, straight quotation of official publications without interpretation | Published automatically |
| Amber | Ordinary news and explainers — everything not green or red | Published after an editor confirms it |
| Red | Named people and companies, allegations, courts, health, readers' money, elections, anything contested | Prepared and checked by an editor by hand, published manually |
Corrections
When we are wrong we correct the text and record at the foot of the article what was changed and when. Material errors are corrected within one working day of confirmation. We do not delete material silently.
Advertising and independence
Advertising and partner material is labelled "Advertisement" or "Partner content" at the top of the text. Advertisers have no influence over editorial material. We do not remove or soften coverage for payment.
Right of reply
Any person or company written about may send a response to info@onlyway.news. The procedure is set out in Complaints procedure.
Responsibility
ONLYWAY NEWS LTD, as publisher, is responsible for what it publishes.
