Where the figures come from
Since February 2026 every forecourt in the United Kingdom must report its prices to the government’s Fuel Finder scheme, overseen by the Competition and Markets Authority. We take the data from there and show it as it is: nothing averaged, nothing “adjusted”. The date next to a forecourt is the day it last CHANGED its price, not the day we downloaded it: if the price has not moved for a week, that is still the price.
In the database: 8,081 forecourts across the United Kingdom. The most recent price change in the download is 20.10.2026, 09:50. We refresh the data daily; most forecourts change their prices less often than once a week.
Postcodes are turned into coordinates through postcodes.io, open data from the Office for National Statistics. We do not store your postcode or pass it to anyone.
The price on the board can differ from the feed: retailers do not update instantly, and loyalty discounts are not in the feed. Before driving across town for two pence a litre, work out whether the detour pays for itself.
We take Fuel Finder data directly, so we see every forecourt in the country rather than a few chains: over eight thousand sites, supermarkets and motorway services included. Loyalty discounts and promotions are not part of the scheme, so the price on the board can differ.
