ONLYWAY RADIO
The publication’s radio: our stories read aloud, listings from the board and music between them. For anyone driving, on shift or on the move — when there is no time to read but you still need to know.
The stream is not live yet. For now the air carries station idents, stings and the countdown to launch — on a loop, the way a real station does it.
The idents are read by a synthetic voice. We say so plainly, as Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires.
What will be on air
- News bulletins — short summaries of our stories: tax, immigration, markets, housing.
- Rates — sterling, metals, the Bank of England’s Bank Rate and the official rates of the region’s central banks.
- Board listings — jobs and services posted by readers.
- Music — between the blocks.
On synthetic voice
Some bulletins will be read by a synthetic voice. We will say so inside the bulletin rather than in small print on a page: that is what Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires, and it is the honest way round.
Advertising on air
Advertising breaks will be announced as advertising before the spot and will go into the same register of placements as the site, each with its own number. Terms and rates →
