If your train is stuck
Delayed by 15 minutes or more and you get your money back. It is called Delay Repay 15: claim within 28 days through your TfL account or by Oyster/contactless card number.
If a section is closed, TfL runs replacement buses and accepts your ticket on alternative routes at no extra cost.
Check on Friday evening. Most weekend closures are announced in advance and will not be cancelled.
