Full fibre reaches 3,880 premises in rural North Oxfordshire

A £8.2 million Project Gigabit contract has been completed in rural North Oxfordshire. The full-fibre network now reaches 3,880 premises, including homes and businesses, four months ahead of schedule. Availability still needs checking at each address.

Full-fibre broadband is now available to 3,880 premises in rural North Oxfordshire, the UK government announced on 13 October 2026. Gigaclear completed the £8.2 million contract four months ahead of schedule. The 3,880 figure counts premises reached by the network, including homes and businesses. It is not a count of companies that have already bought a connection.

Where the network has arrived

The government named Stratton Audley, Hanwell, Horley, Wendlebury and North Newington, together with surrounding villages and hamlets. The completed build covers rural North Oxfordshire. A separate Gigaclear project in South Oxfordshire remains in progress.

Why businesses may care

For a local workshop, shop, farm or home-based sole trader, access to full fibre can improve video calls, cloud services, online sales and large file transfers. Completion of the build does not mean every building in the named villages can place an order today, or that a subscription is free. Prices and terms depend on the exact address and offer.

How to check an address

  1. Enter your postcode on Gigaclear's official availability page and select the exact address to see current order availability and offers.
  2. Compare the result with the government's gigabit address checker for England and Wales. GOV.UK says its data is based on the May 2026 market review and is due to be updated in February 2027, so an individual address status may lag behind a completed build.
  3. Before ordering, check the price for your address, contract length, advertised speeds and installation charges. If you already have another provider, review your existing cancellation terms.
