Londoners can question City Hall for free: register by 14 October

People’s Question Time will take place in Islington on Wednesday 21 October, from 7pm to 9pm. The free event gives Londoners a chance to question the London Assembly about transport, policing and safety, housing and planning, air quality, the environment and London’s economy.

How can I attend for free?

Applications for in-person attendance close at 11:59pm on Wednesday 14 October. Each registration provides one named ticket and tickets are non-transferable. Organisers will disclose the venue with e-tickets from 16 October onwards.

Adults must bring original, valid photo ID matching the name on the ticket. Accepted documents include a passport, driving licence, BRP, CitizenCard, Freedom Pass and Voter Authority Certificate. Under-18s do not need a separate ticket or photo ID, but they must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Why does a ticket not guarantee entry?

City Hall says it deliberately issues more tickets than the venue can hold because some people do not attend. Entry is first come, first served until capacity is reached. Doors may open up to one hour before the event, so arriving early is the safest option.

How can I ask a question online?

A separate free registration is required to join the live chat, and online registration remains open even on the day. Registered viewers can submit and vote on questions; the most popular question may be put to the panel, although selection is not guaranteed. Online participants must be at least 16.

If you only want to watch, no registration is required. The official page will carry the livestream from 6:45pm on 21 October, ahead of the 7pm start.

What else should I know?

The event will be photographed and recorded, and attendance includes consent for the organisers to use images in which visitors appear. British Sign Language interpretation, live speech-to-text, an induction loop and wheelchair access will be available; a full transcript can be requested afterwards.
