The free October Half Term Nature Roadshow will take place at Brompton Cemetery on Thursday 29 October, from 11am to 3pm. It is a drop-in event, so visitors can arrive at any point during those hours.

What will be available?

The Royal Parks lists a nature detective trail, a mini museum with nests, insects and replica bird skulls, spider-themed crafts, wildlife quizzes, games, storytelling and a seasonal trail. The exact mix of activities may vary.

Is the event suitable for adults?

Yes. The organiser says activities are suitable for all ages, including adults. The event is designed for families, nature lovers and anyone interested in urban wildlife.

Is registration required?

Entry is free and the event is described as drop-in. The Royal Parks asks visitors to register their interest on the official page so the team can estimate numbers. This is not a paid ticket and is not listed as a compulsory entry condition.

When is it quieter?

The organiser says the quietest period is usually between noon and 1pm. This may suit children who find crowds difficult or families who prefer a calmer visit.

What should visitors know about photography?

A Royal Parks photographer may be present, and images may be used on social media or shared with funders. Tell a member of staff if you or your child do not want to be photographed.

Can I discuss access needs in advance?

Yes. Visitors can contact the Help Nature Thrive team if they have access requirements or if the organisers can make their visit more comfortable. The contact address is published on the official event page.

Reader tip: visit between noon and 1pm for the quietest period, register your interest beforehand, and tell staff immediately if your family does not consent to photography.
