London exhibitions and art fairs in October: free entry and money-saving tickets

October is one of London’s biggest months for art, with major museum exhibitions, independent fairs and free outdoor displays running at the same time. ONLYWAY.NEWS checked the dates, prices and useful ways to save.

The Other Art Fair: final day on 11 October

The independent fair at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane brings together artists selling their work directly to the public. On Sunday 11 October, it is open from 11am to 6pm.

Standard admission during the fair is £22. Children under 12 enter free but need a Child Ticket. A useful tip: ask at the Welcome Desk for a complimentary re-entry ticket before leaving, subject to availability.

Frieze London and Frieze Masters: 14–18 October

London’s two flagship art fairs return to Regent’s Park. Frieze London focuses on contemporary art, while Frieze Masters spans work from antiquity to the late twentieth century.

A full-price weekend ticket to one fair costs £48. A combined student ticket for both fairs is £32, while admission for visitors aged 2–17 is £10. Tickets are available online only.

The free Frieze alternative

Frieze Sculpture in the English Gardens at Regent’s Park is free to visit without booking until 1 November. The outdoor display features work by 11 international artists, with a free Bloomberg Connects digital guide.

A free one-hour curator tour led by Fatoş Üstek takes place at noon on 1 November, starting at St Andrew’s Gate.

Renoir and Love: Friday tickets from £1

The National Gallery brings together around 40 Renoir paintings from international collections. The exhibition runs until 31 January 2027.

Standard admission is £20 Sunday to Thursday and £25 on Fridays and Saturdays. Under-18s go free. The best-value option begins on 23 October: Friday evening Pay What You Wish tickets can cost as little as £1 until 15 January.

The 90s: Art and Fashion at Tate Britain

The new exhibition explores British art, photography and fashion in the 1990s. It includes Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Juergen Teller, Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst and Sarah Lucas, and is curated by Edward Enninful.

Standard admission is £22. Tate Collective members aged 16–25 can book for £5 after free registration. Tate Britain’s permanent collection remains free.
